Hello, world 🙂
I’m participating in the group as a Scientific Initiation student. My research revolves around analyzing the process of thrombus formation in the left atrium appendage (LA) within patients suffering from atrial fibrillation (FA). To do that, I analyze the hemodynamics, biochemical, and electro-mechanical aspects of the disease using software of Computational Aided Design (CAD) to generate the geometry of a patient’s heart, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to simulate the blood flow through a patient’s LA with AF and without AF, so I can compare both results and analyze parameters such as blood flow velocity, wall shear stress, strain rate, aggregation intensity of the platelets and others. I also work for a company focused on the cardiac rhythm management and electrophysiology study markets, which helps me integrate all the knowledge I get in my research and apply it to the real world.
Education: Undergraduate student at Federal University of ABC (UFABC) – Bachelor in Science and Technology and Biomedical Engineering.
Hobbies: football, video games, and learning about cardiac rhythm management.
