Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common sustained cardiac arrhythmia and involves complex conduction disturbances. Current clinical mapping techniques, such as electrical contact mapping, have limited resolution and may misidentify ablation targets. This study combines panoramic optical mapping, epicardial electrical mapping, and histological  methods to overcome these limitations. Using a rabbit model of induced AF, we aim to correlate spatial patterns of fibrosis with electrical abnormalities to improve understanding and treatment of AF.
